The business commenced in 1984 and broadly encompasses scrap metal, waste  paper, new and used steel, chain and associated marine equipment and specialised pipe.

The founder, Norman Schueler has been involved in all aspects of this business since 1966, having had experience both in private and public companies.

The business is situated on its own 5 acre premises at 255 Grand Junction Road, Ottoway, one of the main industrial centres and is situated very close to Port Adelaide.

All forms of transportation can be easily accessed from this site, and large open spaces facilitate handling and storage. There is a 60 tonne, 18 metre public weighbridge on the site and approximately 3,000 square metres of warehousing.

Normetals believes it is sensitive to all its customers needs and seeks to build long term mutually rewarding relationships.

To achieve this objective the company will use its extensive network of local and overseas suppliers to source the optimum products for a customer's specific needs.

The company is pro-active in endeavouring to achieve lower cost supplies or more suitable products
